Further to the ascertained facts and the principles of the Sirius Foundation the first grant call was announced on 19. 11. 2008 in the programme: Preventive programmes and systematic solutions with the goal of: Improving services for families - improvement of an endangered family in Czech Republic.

Out of 82 grant applications which the Sirius Foundation received after the end of the first round of the grant proceedings, 13 applications were selected by the grant committee for the second round. After personal presentations of projects by applicants before the grant committee and representatives of the Sirius Foundation and on the basis of assessment by experts on the grant committee, the Sirius Foundation's Board of Directors decided on 18. 5. 2009 to support 8 projects worth a total of 15 813 434 CZK.
